The Purpose of HCG in a Complete Male Hormone Replacement Therapy

Good day gentlemen, I want to address a question that is common among my patients. Why are we taking hCG with our testosterone therapy? The following article is intended to give you a general but fairly comprehensive understanding of hCG's purpose.

HCG, or human Chorionic Gonadotropin hormone, is the most costly item in our Complete Therapy programs. There is an upper limit to how significantly hCG will raise testosterone levels (at least when compared to testosterone cypionate or enanthenate) and it certainly does not lower estrogens. To briefly answer the question, hCG stimulates the testicles to produce testosterone while undergoing therapy so your testicles do not shrivel and lose function. While I cannot guarantee you will maintain testicular function while on therapy I will say this add-on to therapy is my best effort to make sure you do not lose testicular function. In most cases with hCG onboard, testicular function is even better after treatment.

(Disclaimer**This next paragraph is advanced physiology, so if it make no sense to you, you are not alone. Skip this and go on to the next paragraph.)

When we inject testosterone, our levels raise. These elevated testosterone levels are recognized by the hypothalamus which then shuts down production of luteinizing hormone (LH). Our testicles stop producing testosterone when they are no longer stimulated by LH to do so, then they start the atrophy process. Sperm count suffers as well. Structure is directly related to function, so as the years go by and the testicles shrink, they lose their ability to produce testosterone ever again.

By administering hCG twice weekly (3 days is how long hCG stays active in a body), we are maintaining function of those testicles. While there are never any guarantees in medicine, my experience is that the men I've put on 500iu hCG twice weekly have higher functioning testicles after 6 months (in regards to testosterone production) than when they first came to me. We do not prescribe anything less than 250iu twice weekly because anything less would not be sufficient for what we are trying to do.

I hope this clarifies some things, if you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment. I look forward to any opportunity I have to educate my patients, assisting them to become masters of their personal health.
